Colonel Kel Muris is a Kel officer who served on the cindermoth Hierarchy of Feasts. He appears in Raven Stratagem.

Appearance and Personality[]

Muris is reliably businesslike during action and usually unreadable. He exudes faint disapproval at humor in the command center.[1] While normally conservative, he fixates on telescoping formations as faster ways to close with the enemy.[2] He did not often work with General Kel Khiruev to manage swarm geometry during battle, but was extraordinarily efficient when doing so.[3]

History[]

Muris was executive officer to Commander Kel Janaia.[4] His distant ethnicity includes the Moionna.[5]

Muris was present on the Hierarchy of Feasts when the Swanknot swarm was taken over by Shuos Jedao. During the swarm's first engagement with the Hafn, Muris conferred with Doctrine.[6]

As the swarm approached Minang Tower and a second engagement, Muris was troubled by Jedao's failure to appear in the command center.[7] After Janaia's breakdown during the engagement, Khiruev appointed Muris acting commander in her stead. Muris was consulting a bannermoth gap in Tactical Six with Communications when Jedao arrived. Jedao later confirmed with Khiruev that Muris would remain acting commander for the duration.[8]

Muris attended a staff meeting with High General Kel Brezan after he had retaken the swarm. Upon arriving, Muris, who had not been informed of the change, saluted immediately and calmly summarized the swarm's activities to date.[9] However, he avoided looking at Khiruev when she and Brezan visited the command center later, not knowing what her fate would be.[10]
